Her real name is Simone Arianne Biles Owens. She was born on 14th March 1997 in Columbus, Ohio, U.S. She is 28 years old as of 2025. She studied at Benfer Elementary School in Harris County, Texas.

In 2012, she left public school and started homeschooling, which allowed her to train more, from 20 to 32 hours a week. She finished high school in mid-2015.

On August 4, 2014, she said she planned to go to UCLA and officially signed in November 2014, but decided to join after the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

But on July 29, 2015, She said she would become a professional athlete, which meant she gave up her chance to compete in college gymnastics for UCLA.

She first tried gymnastics when she was 6 during a day-care trip. She started training with coach Aimee Boorman at age 8. At 14, she began competing as an elite gymnast on July 1, 2011, at the American Classic in Houston.

Her first senior international competition was in March 2013 at the American Cup. She has won 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals, making her the most awarded gymnast ever.

Her 11 Olympic medals tie her with Věra Čáslavská for the second-most by a female gymnast and are the most by any U.S. gymnast. She won gold in the all-around at both the 2016 and 2024 Olympics, and also won gold on vault in both years.

At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she was expected to win at least four out of six gold medals. At the World Championships, she holds the record as the most decorated artistic gymnast ever, male or female, with 30 medals, including 23 golds.

In 2022, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Joe Biden. In 2023, she won her eighth U.S. Gymnastics title, breaking a record that had stood for 90 years, held by Alfred Jochim.

She has also won the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year award four times (2017, 2019, 2020, 2025) and Comeback of the Year in 2024.
