Career Details
He joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in January 2019. He made history as the first true freshman to earn the starting quarterback spot for the Tar Heels.
In his very first game, he threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He was named ACC Player of the Week after passing for 443 yards against Virginia.
Later, he closed the season with three touchdown passes in the 2021 Orange Bowl against Texas A&M, finishing with second-team All-ACC honors.
He finished his degree in December 2021 and decided to skip his remaining college years to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. On May 6, 2022, he officially signed a four-year rookie contract.
