He studied at Emanuel, a private school, from 2007 to 2012. After that, he trained in acting at LAMDA and finished his studies there in 2015.
After finishing at LAMDA, he got his first big role in the BBC One show Dickensian, playing Arthur Havisham. In 2017, he appeared in the four-episode series Howards End as Leonard Bast, alongside Hayley Atwell.
