Her breakthrough came when she co-wrote the topline for Red Velvet’s song “Psycho,” which later earned a gold certification in the United States.

In 2019, she appeared on the soundtrack of the K-drama Woman of 9.9 Billion. She later teamed up with Red Velvet again in 2022 for their hit single “Birthday.”

In 2025, she signed with Prescription Songs, an independent music publishing company. That same April, it was revealed that she would be part of the soundtrack for the Netflix movie KPop Demon Hunters.

One of the songs she helped write and sing, “Golden,” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. On August 18, 2025, Billboard reported that tracks from the movie’s soundtrack held four of the top five spots on the Billboard Global 200 chart.

In July 2025, the YouTube channel Studio USOG shared that she would take part in the “Another Day of Debut Training” project, with all earnings donated to the descendants of Korean independence heroes.

Later, on October 4, 2025, Ejae announced her first solo song, “In Another World,” set to release on October 24.

That same day, she and her KPop Demon Hunters co-stars Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami appeared on Saturday Night Live’s season 51 premiere, playing their movie roles again in a comedy sketch.
