She is the first Welsh professional on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. In 2017, she danced with comedian Brian Conley, reaching week 5.
She returned in 2018 with Danny John-Jules, earning the show’s first 10 from Darcey Bussell for their Jive in week 5.
In 2019, she took part in the seventeenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, dancing with CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual.
In the following series, she was partnered with TV presenter JJ Chalmers, and they finished in 6th place, making it to musical week. The scoring that season was out of 30.
In 2022, on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, Dowden set a Guinness World Record by performing 19 Back Charleston Kick Steps in 30 seconds.
