Her real name is Pauline Lee Hanson. She was born on 27 May 1954 in Brisbane, Australia. She is 71 years old as of 2024. She began her education at Buranda Girls’ School and then went to Coorparoo State School.
She finished school at 15, just before her first marriage and pregnancy. As she got older, she helped her parents with bookkeeping and sales records.
She then worked at Woolworths before moving to office administration at Taylors Elliotts Ltd, handling clerical, bookkeeping, and secretarial tasks.
Career Details
Before entering politics, she ran a fish and chip shop. In 1994, she was elected to the Ipswich City Council. She joined the Liberal Party in 1995 and was chosen to run for the Division of Oxley in Brisbane in the 1996 federal election.
She won the election and served as an independent before co-founding One Nation in 1997, becoming its only MP. She tried to win the Division of Blair in the 1998 federal election but was not successful.
After losing in 1998, she ran in the 2001 election as One Nation’s leader but did not win and was expelled from the party in 2002.
In 2003, a court found her guilty of electoral fr*ud, and she spent 11 weeks in ja*il before three judges on the Queensland Court of Appeal overturned her convictions.
